Dr. Baeker earned his bachelor and medical degrees from The University of Missouri-Columbia. He then went on to complete an internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Missouri Health Sciences Center. Upon completing his residency, he went to University Hospital at Boston University where he completed clinical fellowships in hematology and medical oncology, as well as a research fellowship in hematology.

Over the course of his career, Dr. Baeker has served as a clinical professor of medicine, participated in many cancer research projects and co-authored a number of articles on cancer-related topics for publication in scientific journals.

Currently, he is a member of the board of directors for the Central Kentucky Cancer Program at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

He and his family reside in Danville.

Although Dr. Baeker no longer accepts patients, he remains available for consultation with all physician partners.
